Fairclough Building

Oregon City, Oregon | 2014

The client’s family has owned this building for generations. It was, at one point, a mining provisions outlet and later, a longstanding Chinese restaurant. It has recently housed a number of retail tenants but has seen few updates since the 1970’s.

This METRO public-private venture, ‘Main Streets’ pilot project, sought to bring new storefront improvements, including windows and doors, new building awnings, signage and exterior painting, to prominent, downtown Oregon City commercial buildings. Kina worked in close coordination with a local mural painter, Justin Riede, and the outside graphics team of Ditroen to develop new signage and branding for the building’s individual tenants along with 21st century upgrades to energy efficiency and mechanical systems.
